Each room is designed as a comfortable & spacious king-bed studio. Our fully-equipped kitchenettes are suitable for making light meals, & keeping drinks icy cold. Walk-in rainfall showers provide a spa-like experience.

Garden Rooms 🌺
The Garden Rooms are medium-size studios overlooking the lush garden area. Welcoming you with lots of natural light and bright colors, these rooms are perfect for storing gear, relaxing, and enjoying the beach.
Poolside Rooms 🐬
These luxury rooms overlook the turquoise waters of our pool and twinkle lights in the evening. With larger kitchenettes and bathrooms, you’ll feel right at home making your favorite dishes or steaming in the shower.
Patio Rooms ☀️
These are our most intimate and coziest rooms located in the middle of the property, offering a more quiet and private space for resting after a long day of fishing, surfing, or adventuring. Dim lighting and warm tones welcome you.
Lawn 🏓
Join us on the community lawn where our Weber gas BBQ grill is yours to use at your leisure. Frequent music nights & intimate dinner parties happen here, so we welcome you to join us in the festivities throughout the season. Bring tequila and come along - ¡Salud!
Pool & Grotto 👙
Our swimming pool is perfect for both socializing and relaxing, with built-in seating and a hidden waterfall cave grotto for escaping the sun and finding a bit of privacy. The sun deck offers lounges for napping or sipping poolside cocktails.
So who’s “Hondo” anyway?
Before the hotel was built in 2020, there was a small carniceria (butchershop) on the property where the hotel now sits.
During the hotel’s construction, a large, blue-eyed mutt made frequented the site, likely drawn to us by his memories of beef, bones, and other doggy delights from the carniceria.
But “Hondo,” as he was soon named, was not in great health. Local vets rushed in to save his life as he faced several diseases as well as abuse from his previous life. He became a wonderful watchdog on the property, and was later adopted to an American family.
Hotel Hondo honors his story, as well as the story of many stray other dogs in Baja. Charitable groups such as Cortez Rescue work tirelessly to save these pups, and change the culture of spay/neuter in Mexico.

Located in downtown Los Barriles, Hotel Hondo is situated in a prime location, walkable to everything in town.
That said, many guests like to rent bikes, quads, side-by-sides, or cars for further adventuring, but it’s certainly not required.
Trust us - after a night of cervezas and tequila, you’ll be glad home is nearby! -
Hotel Hondo is about 600 meters from the beautiful, sandy beach of Los Barriles where all the action happens, from kitesurfing, to snorkeling, swimming, and beach parties.
Within a 5-minute walk, this is one of the most beach-accessible properties in town. -
